Nissan Rogue

Think pebbles and parking lot door dings are the only threats to your car's paint job? Unbeknownst to most, there are plenty of other threats to your Nissan's shiny exterior. Our experts at Kelly Car have listed down 5 common mistakes that could potentially ruin the paint job.

+ Spilled Gasoline

Accidental overflow when filling up your gas tank is a guaranteed way to damage your car's paint. Spilled gasoline will leave a stain on your car that is almost impossible to get rid of. However, if you do spill gas by accident, your best bet is to grab a bottle of instant detailer and a clean microfiber cloth and wipe the gasoline before it does further damage.

+ Coffees or Sodas

Driving with your fizzy drink and a cup of coffee on your car roof not only ruins your clothes, it also ruins the paint. Since beverages are acidic and acid can harm your car's paint, get it washed as soon as you can. If you do not have time to visit a car wash, get hold of your bottle of detailer and microfiber cloth and wipe it up.

+ Bird Poop

Bird poop is acidic in nature, other than being repellent. Notice the number of ruined statues in cities infested with pigeons and you will understand what we are trying to say. They can also scratch your paint since they eat gravel and seeds. To avoid it, wash turds as soon as you can.

+ Unseen Dirt

The most common mistake while washing a car is dropping your sponge on the ground. Even the most expensive wash mitt can be ruined this way since it picks up bits of sands and grains which cannot be washed off completely, leaving swirl marks and scratches on the car. It is advisable to keep spare washing mitts in order to avoid the expense of getting your car repainted.

+ Writing or Rubbing on Car

Its fun to write or draw pictures on a dirty car; these messages however, can leave their mark. When dragged across paint, dirt can act like sandpaper making the marks last even after the dirt is gone. To prevent that, keep a duster and wipe your car daily to prevent sanding. Mostly, small scratches come out with a scratch remover or polish.

GMC

Is the mere thought of taking your car to the auto repair shop making you nervous? Unless you're a seasoned mechanic with considerable understanding of the ins and outs of an automobile, it is best that you take your car to the auto repair shop; it is worth the money spent. A well-maintained car can stay on the road for longer. Fear not; professionals at Kelly Car have jotted down a few tips for GMC owners on taking their cars to the auto repair shop for the first time.

Check for Cleanliness

Any auto repair shop you are going to will have a few stains of oil here and there; however, make sure that the shop you have opted for is as clean as possible. Keep an eye out for the work area. Good mechanics tend to keep their tools clean, organized, and neat. A messy workplace can indicate sloppy work.

Clean Up

Clean your car inside out before taking it to the auto repair shop. With the busy routines that people have now, one rarely gets the time to clean the car. Clean up before you take the car for repairs; you don't want the mechanic working among the tons of trash that has accumulated in your car. Toolboxes or clutter can make it tough for the mechanic to remove seats if need be for repairs. The additional weight can also affect your GMC's performance and throw the technician off track of the original problem.

Communicate

While you do not want to pester the mechanic or hover around him, you would want to communicate clearly the issues in your car. Let them in on noise troubles, strange sensations, the car seeming to hesitate when you hit the gas for instance, and if the car does not turn over. Jot it down on a piece of paper so that you do not miss out on any detail regardless of how small it may be. However, if the mechanic insists on finding the problem on his own and does not want to hear you, you might as well find a different auto repair shop.

Get the Parts Back

Do you know that you can get back your old automobile parts? It is a good method to validate that new parts were installed. Before they start on working on your car, you can ask them to return the old parts. However, if they do refuse to give them back, ensure that they have the right as per the law.

Chrysler 200

Chrysler 200

Do you park your Chrysler 200 indoors most of the times and need added protection against dust, environmental agents, and moisture? Spend little, choose the right car cover, and save your big investment; the Kelly Car Chrysler 200. Our Easton dealership explains how indoor car covers act as protective barriers against dust, rust, moisture, scratches, unexpected weather changes, and mishaps or incidents. Thus, choosing the right indoor car cover type is important. Read below to discover the top three types.

Type 01 - Dustop

Dustop is an American 4-layered car cover fabric. This non-woven and soft fabric is light in weight and easy to clean. Its manufacturing process includes an ultrasonic lamination technique, making it extra resistant against dust and environmental damage. This soft fabric allows free flow of air, allowing the upper layer of paint to breathe; while limiting the oxidation process to ensure paint protection and safety.

The upper two layers are constructed with polypropylene and polyethylene for increased durability and softness. A molten polypropylene third layer offers a strict barrier against dust. A high-loft blending of polypropylene and polyethylene also provides a soft finish to the cover.

Type 02 - Tan Flannel

For car lovers who want to protect their custom paint job, Tan Flannel is a blessing. It is a super soft paint caressing fabric constructed for a poly-cotton blend and may be used for outdoor purposes occasionally. It is generally 50% heavier than other car cover types but does not restrict the free flow of air and moisture.

Its semi-water resistant properties make it a good choice for areas with unexpected weather, specifically the tropical regions. This cover type is specially treated to resist mold and mildew. It comes in only one color; Tan.

Type 03 - Form Fit

The ultra soft interior and snug fit exterior of the form fit cover, manufactured with 100% terry cotton loop fibers, provides high quality protection and an amazing appeal to your car. It generally comes with a 4 year fabric warranty and in a variety of colors including blue, green, silver gray, black, red and charcoal gray etc.

It is the thickest amongst all of the available covers and can be conveniently used for scratch and dent protection. When fitted onto the car, it gives the feel of a perfectly sealed bubble in which your car is enclosed.

2013 Nissan Rogue

Nissan Rogue

Are you going on a 2 weeks trip by air and planning to park your car in an indoor storage area? Have you prepared your car for storage?

Unfortunately, most people believe that parking your car indoors is a safe option and does not require precautionary tips and safety measures. However, in reality, the car requires pre-storage preparations, just as you would prepare your home, food items and other belongings for storage in your absence. At our Bethlehem dealership, we provide car storage preparatory services and share expert tips with our valued clients as well. Even stronger cars like Kelly Car Nissan Rogue need pre-storage preparatory care so check out these tips and make the most of them before storing up your car.

Check and Change the Fluids

Old and thick fluids in the brake and clutch cylinders and old engine oil reduce lubrication and increase the risks of water absorption. If you have not changed the engine oil for a long time, then replace the sparkplugs as well. Make sure to squirt upper cylinder lubricant into the cylinders to reduce cylinder wall rusting.

Pre-Storage Wax

It is better to wash the car and wax the outer surface in order to reduce the impact of unexpected rain or snow. Make sure to wipe the car seats and dashboard with wet chamois. Washing and waxing the car a day before leaving will give it sufficient time to completely dry off.

Use Anti-Freeze

Most people use anti-freeze during freezing temperature But using an anti-freeze in normal climates will also lubricate the cooling system and protect the lining from corrosion.

Protect With a Car Cover

Providing an indoor weather shield to protect and prepare the car against unexpected weather changes is a great way to restrict the attack of environmental agents. Many car manufacturers now produce weather-resistive and car model supportive custom covers. A custom fabric is tailored according to your car design and covers every inch of it. For example; Kelly Car Nissan Rogue custom covers are tailored in a mini-jeep style rather than a linear car style.

Check the Gas Tank

Full gas tanks limit the space for storage of moisture and water. Check the gas tank and add fuel-friendly additives like dry gas. Let it mix well and spread into the entire system by driving the car for 5 minutes or just keeping the engine running.

Take It for a Quick Drive

The best last minute thing you can do for your car is to let it exhale all the moisture to prevent from corrosion. Before parking the car in storage, take it for a 30 minute drive. After parking the car, inflate the tires and remove the batteries.

Your long route partner, Kelly Car Nissan Rogue is easy to maintain and protect against weather effects. If you are going for a long vacation, follow the aforementioned tips given by our Bethlehem dealership and enjoy your trip without any worries.

Get your hands on the all-in-one package; Kelly Car Nissan Rogue; which offers luxury, comfort and safety in a single investment.
