2015-Nissan-Altima

Nissan Altima

In Part 1, the rules discussed were some of the more serious ones. But at Kelly Car in Allentown, we believe a couple of lighthearted "rules" should be included too to make the trip memorable.

1. You never touch the radio

Unless of course you"ve been asked to by the main person himself. Then by all means go ahead and select the playlist or radio station off the 2015 Nissan Altima's superior infotainment system you think is appropriate for the drive. But seeing as you haven't been so far, let the man - or woman - choose their entertainment themselves.

2. You don't get to bring the illegal substances

If you think it's the driver only who's prohibited from possessing or doing any illegal thing, think again. Do you really want to ruin this trip and chance of a smooth and comfortable ride with the Nissan Altima by taking a risk against the law? The driver of course will be the one most heavily penalized, but you won't get off easy either. So yes, this rule's as important as they go.

3. You are the one with the selfie stick

You want a keepsake of the moments? Then someone's got to be taking pictures or filming the happenings right. That's what you'll be talking about years later from this trip. But don't you let the driver do it. If he/she is an avid Instagram user, it's all you can do to keep them from using it while driving.

4. You are one to factor in miscellaneous costs (food and gas)

How long can you go without food and yet not feeling grumpy? This is supposed to be a long trip; if you don't want to be the sullen one others are forced to put up with - or vice versa - it's better to take along some snacks with you for everyone. If you are unable to do so and a stop won't hurt your plans, then you can at least be courteous of finding a decent alternative like a store of a fast food chain that offers reasonably priced stuff to fuel you up en route.

And just like that, you know the driver's going to be stopping to refuel the beautiful Nissan Altima. While these won't be frequent, given it has one of the best fuel mileage among the class competitors, you guys can decently slip in a couple bucks.

Nissan Altima

So, your partner or buddy got their brand new Nissan Altima from Kelly Car in Allentown and you guys are ready to hit the road for a long trip? While it's a trusted dealer and the model's all complete with a suite of tech upgrades, are you ready to assist the driver on the journey to make it as safe and enjoyable as possible?

Read on and see how many boxes you tick.

1. You can read a map and alert for potential hazards and other directions

Did you know that there are instances where the Google Maps or Magellan GPS tech may not work correctly? For example, if you are travelling where construction is taking place, the navigation in your Nissan Altima or your phone would not be half as useful as you, that is, if you act as the real-time navigator. In fact, besides apps like Waze giving you real-time updates on traffic, the fact that you are looking out and keeping the driver in check regarding traffic laws, especially if there's police up ahead, will protect them better in due time.

2. You can keep the driver focused on road

Around 421,000 people were injured by accidents due to distracted driving in 2012 (data source: a 2014 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report). Now, it's your duty to see how the driver puts up with common distractions such as text messaging while they drive. Depending on your relation, you can propose that you answer their emails and/or texts in case of emergency, and if they continue to do so themselves, can even take the liberty to snatch it out of their hands. Likewise, you"ve to see that the driver's not drowsy or drugged. According to stats, men are twice as likely to sleep while driving as women - evaluate your chances.

3. You can take over if need be

This again is another important rule for a co-pilot: they are always prepared. Whether in case of emergency or not, you should be as alert and fresh as the driver's supposed to be, and in the instance where you take over, make sure the other passenger fulfilling your role is capable too so that y"all reach the destination safely.

While it's important that you take this 4-dr family sedan like it's supposed to be - athletic performance, daring stance, excellent fuel economy, and the Top Safety Pick by both IIHS and NHTSA - you"ve got to play your part too. For more tips and advice on how to make the most of your 2015 Nissan Altima, come down by the Kelly Car dealership in Allentown!

Buick

Having little toddlers in the back of your new Buick can be scary - what if the toddler splashes milk all over your brand new interior! Kelly Car brings to you tips on how to make your Buick's interior child-proof for all residents of Bethlehem, Allentown, and Emmaus.

Car Seats are Great Helpers

Car seats do more than merely act as a security feature for your toddler; they even restrict your toddler from fiddling with the window button, the handles of the car, and protecting your car's interior from scribbles and much more! Make sure the child is strapped in properly, but ensure that it's not too tight either; kids get really uncomfortable when someone restricts them this much.

Avoid Snacks

If you are going on a road-trip, make sure that the baby is full before you leave the house. If you hand over a juice box or some treat to them, there's a high likelihood that your all-new Buick will have stains and snacks spilled all over. If it is not possible for you to feed the baby before you head out, have someone feed them from hand while sitting in the back. This will prevent unwanted stains, and the interior will remain clean too.

Remove any Dangerous Items or Unwanted Items

You do not want to leave dangerous items near your child, let alone items which they can use to damage the new interior, like crayons or sprays. The toddler can use the interior of your Buick as their personal canvas, leaving you blowing steam out of your ears. The spray can also cause stains, or leave behind an odor; worst of all, it may be harmful for the toddler themselves.

Distraction Always Works

In order to make sure your Buick's interior lasts the drive, keep the child distracted, and what better way to do that than to give them toys; and not just any toys, their favorite Mr. Bunny and Blankie! Distractions will keep your child occupied, your interior untouched, and you focused on the road.

Keep the Sheets on!

Your Buick comes with seat covers. Whenever you buy a car from Kelly Car, we make sure you get everything in the best condition possible, which is why we wrap your seats with protective sheets. Do not remove those sheets if you have a toddler. If the child drops something on top, it can be removed or cleaned more easily than it would have been if they spilt something on the seats themselves.

Mitsubishi Lancer

Tires

Have you ever wondered why your tires have been wearing out well before their time? Have you been taking precautions to make sure it does not happen again, and yet, it does? If your tire is not lasting you at least 6 years or up to 10 years, Kelly Car in Emmaus, PA has some tips for you.

Rotating is Important too

Let's say you buy a brand new Mitsubishi and it comes along with beautiful and genuine tires, after all, purchases from Kelly Car are always authentic and genuine. Many drivers ignore this, but car manufacturers encourage drivers to get their tires rotated every 5-7 thousand miles. This is because the tires in the front and the tires in the back face different amounts of pressure, and operate on different road conditions. Through rotation on a regular basis, they stay balanced. If a driver does not rotate their car's tires, some tires are more exposed to pressure, glass, rocks and sediments, sharp objects, oil, etc than the rest. Those tires are most likely to burst suddenly, while reducing their life considerably.

Keep the New Tires on the Back Axle Always

If a front tire gives out on you, do not get a new tire fixed in its place. If a tire has less pressure and has to face rough road conditions, it loses its grip or control over time. No matter which car you may have, a Mitsubishi or another, new tires should always be in the back, whereas the old back tires should come up in the front. If there was an issue with the front tire, you would figure it out through the help of the steering and get it fixed right away before the car starts to spin. If the back tire were to burst, the driver would have found out after their car has spun. This is one of the main reasons cars spin out of control when it is raining as drivers do not place the new tires in the back, as tires lift us, losing their grip when they are wet.

Tire Pressure Matters!

When there is less pressure in your tires, there is a warning sign which goes off indicating that you need to get the air re-filled. When the warning signs are ignored, the tire can burst without warning, regardless of day. If you are lucky, you will find a good mechanic nearby, whereas others need to struggle to find a mechanic, especially on a highway. This is why you must always take the warning signs seriously and consider regular maintenance or keeping a pressure gauge with you.

Buick Regal

Buick

So you have decided to splurge on the new Buick you have been eyeing for quite some time and want to flaunt it? Here are few places you can show off your Buick, as per the recommendation of our experts here at Kelly Car located in Allentown.

High School Reunion

There is something about a high school reunion that compels people to show off how smart, beautiful and successful they have become over the years. They want to tell everyone they are better than the rest of the graduating batch. What better way to make that statement subtly without having to brag with your luxurious Buick.

Fancy restaurant with valet parking

We all had this one incident when we went to a new luxury restaurant in town and sheepishly gave the keys of our 1993 Honda Civic to the valet who could not conceal his amusement. By the time you get seated, the entire serving staff knows of your car and your financial position. Going in your Buick to that upscale restaurant will make sure you get royal treatment throughout your stay there.

Parties

Parties are a great way for people to flaunt their exotic cars. You get to spend the entire day discussing your engine specs, aerodynamics, amenities and price of the sports car in the parking lot with two bodyguards hovering around it.

Weddings

Weddings are an amazing occasion where you can leave with your spouse in your amazing sports car after saying I do. Or if you are unmarried, you can arrive in your super car letting all the single ladies out there know you are awesome.

Business meeting

You never get a second chance to make an impression in the business world; first chances are all we get. Show the executive world that their interests are safe with you by arriving in your posh Buick.

First dates

Nothing says romance like a sports car; squelch your first date jitters by picking your date up in your suave sports car. With racing hearts, it will set the tone of the evening.

Country club events

A member of country club has certain expectations along with the privileges. Nothing will start the gossip mill churning faster than you pulling up in a hot Buick.

Prom

Prom is a rite of passage that usually happens once. People go to great lengths to make prom night the most memorable night of their lives. What better way to make for making the memory stellar then picking up your date in your Buick?
