Jeep Renegade Trailhawk - Kelly Car - Emmaus, PA

If you’re looking for ‘A Real Jeep’, look no farther than the Jeep Renegade crossover SUV with Trailhawk trim. Jeeps need to go places no other crossover can, and the Trailhawk delivers you there.

The Trailhawk adds a couple of inches over the other Jeep trims but never feels unstable or harsh. The unique front and rear fascia allow for better approach angles and breakover, there are skid plates protecting the undercarriage, hill-descent control, and all-terrain tires, among other specialized features.

Inside, the seat padding is firm and supportive, the cloth upholstery looks and feels durable, and the Renegade’s thick-rimmed steering wheel feels great to the grip. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a wiper de-icer round out the Renegade for cold-weather climates. When equipped with the optional 8-way power driver’s seat, the Renegade provides amazing, car-like comfort.

There’s 18.5 cubic feet of cargo space when the seats are all in place, fold them to maximize cargo capacity up to a hefty 50.8 cubic feet; the front passenger seat also folds forward to allow those long items such as skis or ladders; used in tandem with either the 60/40-split folding rear seat  (standard), or the optional 40/20/40-split folding rear seat you could even get a kayak in there. There's also a clever storage bin located under the cargo floor that can be removed for more space.

Since the Trailhawk is off-road oriented, it comes with four-wheel drive, hill descent control, a raised suspension, tow hooks and underbody skid plates. All 4WD Renegades have selectable drive modes for different terrains and since the Trailhawk has a more advanced 4WD system it also has enhanced low-speed off-road gearing and an extra drive mode.

In addition to most of the Limited and Latitude trim's features, the Trailhawk also has 17-inch alloy wheels and all-terrain tires, unique exterior accents, automatic wipers, a full-size spare, an upgraded driver information display, a 115-volt power outlet, premium cloth upholstery, red interior stitching, a leather-wrapped shift knob and a removable cargo floor panel.

Beyond all of those features, Jeep offers a package that includes a 6.5-inch touchscreen, a navigation system, HD radio and Uconnect Access with extra safety features, a WiFi hotspot and voice texting. You can equip your Renegade Trailhawk with an affordably priced Advanced Technology package containing several driver-assistance and crash-avoidance technologies including forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking systems, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist system, blind-spot monitoring, and a rear parking-assist system with rear cross-traffic alert.

Affordable, practical, and stylish, the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk possesses unquestionable personality, substantial and admirable quality construction accompanied by attractive and super up-to-date styling. And did we say, true off-road capability?

2016 Jeep Renegade - Kelly Car - Emmaus, PA

You might think wild ‘outdoors’ when you consider a Jeep, but the compact, zippy Renegade is exceptionally well suited to city life. It’s easy to park, has a solid, well-cushioned feel with a suspension that takes potholes and rough pavement in firm stride. The 9-speed automatic is fun to manipulate and run through its range, braking is sharp and responsive.

The 2016 subcompact, crossover Jeep Renegade is a five-passenger SUV offered in four trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk. The base Sport model comes with 16-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, power windows and locks, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, a height-adjustable driver seat, cloth upholstery, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and a four-speaker sound system with an auxiliary jack and a USB port.

The Limited trim comes with 18-inch wheels, dual exhaust tips, automatic wipers, dual-zone automatic climate control, an upgraded driver information display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, remote engine start, a 115-volt power outlet, leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat (with four-way power lumbar), heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob and a 40/20/40-split folding rear seat with pass-through.

The Latitude adds alloy wheels, roof rails, foglights, automatic headlights, heated power-adjustable outside mirrors, body-colored door handles and mirrors, air-conditioning, ambient LED lighting, a fold-flat front passenger seat, cruise control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Tech updates include a rearview camera, the Uconnect control interface with 5.0-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, voice commands, an additional USB port and a six-speaker audio system.

The Renegade offers a short length but is wide for its size providing unexpected interior space for passengers and their cargo. Naturally, the more upright design affords lots of extra headroom, that extra space is also cleverly utilized to provide ample legroom. Three-across seating becomes possible in the rear thanks to the abundant width. Looking at cargo, you’ll find an area of 50.8 cubic feet of space with the rear seats folded down, and 18.5 cubic feet with the seats up.

The 2016 Jeep Renegade comes standard with antilock brakes, traction and stability control, driver knee airbag, front side airbags, side curtain airbags and hill start assist. A rearview camera is standard on all trims except the Sport; two safety packages are available that add blind spot monitoring, rear cross-path alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, frontal collision warning and rear parking sensors.

Manually removable sunroofs can be ordered on all Renegades above the Sport trim!

Intuitive controls and clear instrumentation make driving the Renegade easy, and the interior layout and materials are well suited for the Jeep brand. Jeep's intuitive infotainment system is placed front and center in an attractive cabin highlighted by a practical and ergonomic dash.

Both of the engines on offer for the 2016 Jeep Renegade provide similar power output, so your choice depends more or less on your personal preference. The 1.4-liter delivers its power in smoothly in a sportier manner with an easy-to-shift manual transmission. The 2.4-liter engine has a stronger low-rpm torque making it more powerful and responsive from a stop or at low speeds. The nine-speed automatic transmission is smooth and keeps engine rpm low for maximum highway cruising fuel efficiency.

On-road and in the city, the distinctively styled Jeep Renegade is right at home. Head out into the burbs and you’ll find a fine handling machine on the twistiest road you can throw at it. It’s athletic and nimble with controlled body roll and it certainly can go where other crossovers cannot: off road.

2015-jeep-cherokee-trailhawk

The holiday countdown has begun in every home and families in Bethlehem may be preparing to take their annual holiday trip. However, if you have a car, such as the Jeep Cherokee, you need to make sure it is fully prepared for the ride. You surely don't want it to give you any kind of trouble along the way. Some simple maintenance checks can ensure that you and your family enjoy a fun holiday trip as planned.

Here are a few preparation and maintenance tips to follow in this regard:

Check the Lights

Whether your trip is long or short, night time driving or foggy conditions require proper lighting. It is also always better to be safe than sorry. So take a walk around your car and make sure all the lights are in proper working order. Check the flashers, high and low beams, directional signals, license plate lights and brake lights.

Don't Forget the Wipers

It is very important to replace the wiper blades if you haven't done so in a while, especially if you can’t even remember the last time you changed them. Wiper blades are generally not that long lasting and even the best quality ones need replacing in six months. If you spot any missed spots, cracks, streaking or tears, they are all signs of an imminent replacement.

Check the Washer Fluid

Do you know that a lot of the washer fluid can be used up to keep the windshield clear if you’re taking a road trip through salt covered roads and snowy conditions? In such a scenario, it really isn’t a good idea to run out of it during your trip. So ensure that you have enough fluid to last you for a while and keep a gallon of it in your trunk as well. Switch to washer fluid with an antifreeze agent if it gets too cold during traveling.

Check the Battery

Batteries lose strength as they age so it’s better that you take no chances if you are not driving with an entirely new battery. Get it checked before embarking on your journey to avoid any kind of battery trouble mid way.

Check the Tires

Another important thing to check is the tire pressure. Make sure it is correct before taking off and consider winter tires if necessary. It depends on the area you live in and where you’re driving towards. If you expect a snowstorm, make sure you invest in a set of all season tires or winter tires for your ease and benefit.

So after ensuring that all parts of your car are in order, you must not forget some essential items in case of an emergency. Grab a bag and put in your first aid kit, flashlight, fire extinguisher, jumper cables, warning light, and gloves for unforeseen circumstances and put it in the trunk. These tips should help you prepare and maintain your car for the holiday trip ahead. Don't forget to be safe on the road and be sure to stop at the shoulder if you feel too drowsy to drive.

1997 Jeep Wrangler For Sale - Kelly Car - Emmaus, PA

The Jeep has a style that's changed very little in more than 70 years, this Wrangler is an heir to the first Jeep military vehicles of World War II; the 1997 Wrangler is full of personality. What other vehicle allows you to take off the doors, remove the top, fold down the flat windshield or hose it out after an off-pavement adventure? There’s really nothing like a Jeep Wrangler, totally customizable, fun on road and off - and they really do seem to last forever. Evokes Jurassic park!

Sahara is the topline Wrangler from 1997-2004, with standard features including a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel, cassette or CD player, fog lamps, intermittent wipers, alloy wheels and 225/75R-15 rubber.

The Wrangler has always been thought of as a rough-rider, but beginning with the 1997 model, the Wrangler became a vehicle you could drive every day. It's the last Wrangler available with the legendary AMC inline-6, and it's smaller and 400 lb. lighter than the 2007-and-later Wranglers, which are not as nimble off road.

The 1997 Jeep Wrangler ushered in a coil spring suspension with gas-pressure shocks that gave the vehicle a greatly improved on-pavement ride. The result was a smoother highway drive, making the post-1997 Wrangler a better all-around vehicle. With its compact size, tight turning circle, short overhangs and generous 8.5 inches of ground clearance, that year’s Wrangler was still one of the best off-road vehicles around. Other improvements included dual front airbags, instruments centered in front of the driver, 7 in more suspension articulation and optional ABS on some models.

People are devoted to this vehicle and care for them lovingly; owning and getting into a Jeep Wrangler Sahara changes your perspective. The short wheelbase, wide track, and high center of gravity make for a drive aimed of course at off roading. A turn off the pavement and the Wrangler is master of its environment. Even if you don't spend a lot of your time in the back country, you know it won’t take much to get back out there in your Wrangler.

The Wrangler for that year came in SE, Sport, Sahara, X, Rubicon and Unlimited trims. All models featured 4-wheel drive and came standard with a canvas top that features side curtains with zip-out plastic windows and half-canvas doors. An optional hardtop with steel doors and roll-up tinted glass windows was produced that included a rear window defroster and wiper. A stout rollover bar was standard and there are no side airbags, power windows, mirrors or door locks, as the doors are removable.

 Jeep

Jeep calls the Trailhawk the most off-road capable vehicle in its class, which probably doesn’t come as a surprise; it is a Jeep after all.

Jeep declares that the “Trail Rated” badge on its side indicates, “…that the vehicle is designed to perform in a variety of challenging off-road conditions identified by five key consumer-oriented performance categories: traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation and water fording.”

And the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk delivers on this promise. Looking at its standard specs demonstrates how.

The Pentastar V6, which powers the Trailhawk, is rated at 271 hp and 239 lb-ft.; at full throttle, it gives a muscular roar, which we all love to hear! Under more normal loads though, engine sounds were pleasingly absent from the cabin.

It’s not just the engine noises that are nonexistent from the cabin; wind and ambient road noise disappear into the ether. The Cherokee Trailhawk’s cabin is amazingly quiet for the elegant workhorse that it is, a very nice complement to Jeep’s remarkable attention to detail and build quality.

Got a route full of spiky rocks? Muddy road up to the wheel covers? Boulders? Believe it or not: No problem.

The Trailhawk comes with the amazing Jeep Active Drive Lock (JADL) all wheel drive system that assists the Trailhawk in tackling with ease and confidence every obstacle it is presented with.

On other iterations of the Cherokee, the JADI is the basic all-wheel drive system with only one operation: on or off. Like the other 4×4 models, JADI operates primarily in front-wheel drive mode, disconnecting the rear axle for improved efficiency. When the vehicle senses the need for all-wheel drive, it will flawlessly engage the rear axle.

As for JADL: this system includes all the features of Jeep Active Drive II and adds a locking rear differential for superior low-speed power for severe off-road conditions. That’s a mouthful, and that's a lot of driving ability! JADL is standard on all Trailhawk models.  Come in and talk to our Jeep professionals about all the power and technical features for the Cherokee Trailhawk!

As good as the Cherokee Trailhawk is off-road - it gets even better on the road. The Trailhawk’s handling is astounding: its suspension was tuned for the trail but on the highway, performance is stellar. At high-speeds, cornering is met without complaint or body roll. And rough road lumps and bumps are absorbed with cool composure. High-speed, rapid braking is incredibly self-possessed, something missing in others in the class and CUVs.

Along with its stylin’ matte-black hood accent and red tow hooks, the Trailhawk boasts many functional extras including a one-inch factory lift, the Jeep Active Drive Lock with locking rear differential, and a set of skid plates.

The interior is also an example in how to add utility without spoiling an interior; it has one of the best infotainment systems in the industry, Uconnect, on an 8.4-inch screen. There’s loads of leg and head room and plenty for cargo – the driver can get the electric rear lift opening from a button right next to the steering wheel. It’s a truly a great vehicle!

Come in to Kelly Automotive to test drive this amazing Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk before it flies away!
